XIII Simposio de Probabilidad y Procesos Estocásticos

Faculty of Sciences, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

December 4 to 8, 2017

Entrance to the talks is free, no registration or fee is necessary to attend the talks.

The Symposium on Probability and Stochastic Processes was held for the first time in 1988 at CIMAT.

Today, after twelve editions is recognized as the main national event in the area, taking place biannually in various academic institutions in Mexico.

During all these years, the symposium has fulfilled its main objective of exchanging ideas and discussing state-of-the-art developments in this field, bringing together national and international researchers as well as graduate students. It has undoubtedly propelled research in Probability Theory in Mexico.

These exchanges have been fruitful in the long term, in collaborative articles among the participants, graduate studies of Mexican students with national and international researchers, lecture notes for the courses, as well as volumes of contributed papers.

Thanks to a combined effort from the Faculty of Sciences, the Institute of Research in Applied Mathematics and Systems (IIMAS), the Institute of Mathematics (IM UNAM) and the Graduate Program, this time the XIII edition of the Symposium of Probability and Stochastic Processes will take place at the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM); national flagship university and Cultural Heritage of Humanity, in Mexico City, from December 4 to 8, 2017.

The organization has been jointly coordinated with CIMAT and the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, and generous financial support has been received from CONACYT and the Mathematical Mexican Society.

Our symposium will intersect with the 75th Anniversary of the Institute of Mathematics at UNAM, which will enable us to participate in the celebration, as detailed below.

As in its previous editions, there will be courses given by leaders in the area, plenary talks on various topics at the forefront of  probability, thematic sessions in strategic areas of development for probability in Mexico, contributed talks to increase the diversity of themes of the congress and a poster session.
